Meals For The Homeless
AMWA serves dinner every 3rd Monday of the month at I-HELP (Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program).
I-HELP provides a safe place to sleep and a hot meal to men & women experiencing homelessness. They also offer ready access to warm showers and case management services.
AMWA Volunteers prepare meals at home or bring purchased meals to the shelter and serve the residents.
Volunteers also assemble sack lunches at the congregation’s kitchen for the guests to take the following morning.
Volunteers serve the food, clean up tables and wash dishes. Most volunteers enjoy sitting with the guests and chatting together at the same table.
AMWA provides volunteer hours to those in need of school credit or community service.
