About Us
AMWA was founded in 1997, by a group of Muslim women who were helping community members in need of assistance. These like minded women joined together to better serve the needy, irrespective of faith and ethnicity. They formed an organization whose goal was to promote a positive image of Islam and be true to the Islamic principles of justice and equity by serving the needy.
The founding members were Dr. Anjum Majeed, Dr. Hamida Jamali, Dr. Naheed Shah and Nazli Currim.
